I would like laser hair removal on my face. Does anyone know about this?

I’m 43, and I’ve had a bad problem with lip and chin hair for about 8 years now………and I’m noticing the hair along my cheeks seems a thicker peach fuzz blonde than it used to be…….although the hair on my lip and chin is definitely dark brown.

Anyway, I’m thinking about getting my whole face hair laser removal…..lip, chin, cheeks

I’ve called a few places, and most say that they would have no problem using the laser on my lip and chin……but they might have problems with the blonde peach fuzz hair on my cheeks and sideburn area.

Also, most places are quoting around $750 for lip and chin, and way over $1000 for all of it.

What do you all think? Also, are there any risks with laser removal?

More Home Hair Removal Systems Available Now Than Ever Before

It used to be that there were very few options when it came to hair removal solutions. It was basically a choice between the salon or one or two primitive and uncooperative products you could find at the drugstore. Now, however, there are more high-quality home hair removal systems available than ever before.

An at-home wax kit can be used to remove one’s upper lip and chin hair, as well as some unwanted eyebrow hairs. There are two basic kinds of at-home wax kits.

The first type of at-home wax kit includes a jar of wax which you heat in your microwave, wooden application sticks with which to apply the wax to your face, and then specially-treated paper strips which you then apply to the hot wax and remove once the wax has cooled. The hair and wax come off when you remove the strips.

The other type of at-home wax kit includes strips which already contain wax, which you apply directly to the skin with the hair that you want to remove. This eliminates the step of applying the hot, drippy wax with the wooden applicator, and therefore is preferred by many women.

Although either type of at-home wax kit can cause some pain, it is usually not any more painful than what you would feel at a salon waxing. What makes it worth the pain is that this method of hair removal provides you with incredibly soft and smooth skin which lasts for a long time.

Another option for at-home hair removal is the range of cream hair removers. These usually are area-specific-for example, you would want to use a different product on your upper lip than you would on your bikini area.

One thing that is nice about using a cream hair remover on your upper lip is that the cream is easier to manage and therefore more likely to create accurate results. One disadvantage, however, is that you can often not use the cream remover twice in one day, as this could cause potential irritation.

Another disadvantage of using a cream remover on this particular area is that cream hair removers often do not smell very good, and having to keep this substance on the area right below your nose can be a somewhat annoying experience. However, like the wax kits, cream hair removers also create very soft and smooth skin and the results last for a very long time.

It is also important to try different products; just because one particular system caused you a great deal of pain and perhaps some irritation doesn’t mean that all brands will. It is not uncommon to have to try at least two different brands of hair removal kits before finding the home hair removal system that is right for you. And like with any other skill, the more often you use any of these at-home products, the better you will get and the more pleased you will be with your results.

Laser Hair Removal Newbie: I need to learn the basics! Do you recommend Laser/IPL? Why or why not?

It’s really embarrassing, but I’ve had these little unsightly hairs on my chin for awhile. I noticed one or two coming in when I was about 15, and ever since then more and more have been coming in. I keep tweezing and trimming them in an attempt to keep them under control, but now it seems no matter how many I get, there are four more I missed! I don’t have hours a day to spend on keeping myself from looking like a bearded lady.

Now, to make matters worse, my skin recently became sensitive to most products (including perfume, fancy soaps, etc). I’ve become pretty much allergic to Nair (it gives me an exzema-like rash) and I’m starting to break out from constant tweezing and touching that it takes to rid myself of all these hairs. I haven’t had breakouts since my sophomore year, and now my chin is a mess! I’m sick of it, and so I’m considering Laser Hair Removal or IPL.

I am a very fair-skinned female, and my natural hair color is brunette. The hairs that give me so much grief are thick and dark- they look black on my skin, but may actually be dark brown (it’s hard to tell). I do have some light blonde hairs on my face, but I don’t care about them since they’re pretty much invisible! I’d be looking to have my chin and the underside of my neck done. Since I’m going to college (and would like to have Laser or IPL done at home, over breaks or something), I want to know how many treatments your AVERAGE facial hair removal takes- (i.e.how many treatments over how long?) – and how much the average chin hair removal treatment is going to run me- an example of how much yours cost (and the state you’re from, so I can keep the price in perspective) would be really helpful!

I’ve done some research so far, but I’d like to know if people have had good experiences with it, and if they recommend it to somebody like me. I’d like to hear some opinions and even some tips, and I’d like some general information. I want to do some more research before I decide to do it, so any help you have to offer would be greatly appreciated!

Lastly, I’d be happy to get some tips or pointer on what to look for when selecting a hair removal specialist!

Thanks so much!

How well do at home hair removal lasers work and are there safety risks?

I was looking through ebay and noticed they have started to sell at home hair removal lasers. They claim that they work pretty well(of course they do) but they do not mention where there are health risks involved and how painfull they will be. Can anyone give me some info on these subjects?

Laser Hair Removal ? The Safe, Obvious Solution

When it comes to Removing unwanted hair

, one thing becomes very clear: laser hair removal is a method that surpasses all others by a long shot.

There must be a reason why more than 2 million procedures are performed in the United States every year. There must be a reason why laser hair removal is number two on the list of the most performed cosmetic procedures. When we learned to harness the force of this beam, a whole new world opened before us. From military implementations to the medical and cosmetic worlds, lasers are used in surgeries, in vision correction, in dentistry, in skin resurfacing and in hair removal. The instruments themselves come in different shapes and strength, and since it is so widely used, it makes laser hair removal a very logical solution.

For years the electrolysis was considered the only  Permanent hair removalmethod. The procedure was long, and several visits were required to treat a small area. They were not painful necessarily, but very uncomfortable. They had to shock each hair follicle to prevent it from growing again, and we have many of those who grow in different cycles. In a small study done at a laser center in Ankara, Turkey, the effectiveness of laser hair removal was about 60 times greater than that of electrolysis.

Laser hair removal is based on the same idea; shock the follicles and prevent them from growing again. But unlike electrolysis, it can treat more than one hair at a time by targeting a whole area. A cooling gel is applied first, then a few seconds at a time, a beam will be released causing no more than a slight sensation. After a few of those, the gel is wiped away and with it all the unwanted hair. Some additional visits are required to treat the new hair follicles that start to grow, usually between 4-6.

Of course you would want it to be done in a respectable place, where a professional – such as an M.D – supervises the use of the laser and insures that mistakes are not done.

But would you be willing to pay doctors fees for hair removal?

That is why Los Angeles Medi Spa is just a place you would want. In a peaceful and serene atmosphere, partnered by a well known plastic surgeon, a registered nurse and a team of dynamic estheticians, you can get botox to relax your worry lines, Juvederm and Restylane to fill up what nature has taken away, facials and a complete body treatment from head to toe. And of course you can have your unwanted hair removed by laser.

Laser Hair Comb – How it Can Help Your Hair

A Laser hair comb is a revolutionary tool in hair restoration method. More and more people who suffers from hairloss are trying to get honest information about laser hair comb and tempting to try one for themselves. Have you ever wonder how a laser hair comb can help your hair? Let’s learn.

The laser hair comb delivers a cool laser or also known as a low level laser light which enhance the blood circulation of the scalp, particularly the blood flow to the hair follicle.

The energy released from the laser light is not too strong, which it only penetrate to a specific depth of the scalp, around 5 to 6mm Thus, making a laser hair comb safe to be used for everybody. With the improved blood supply to the the hair follicles, more nutrients can be supply to the hair follicles and make them healthy and strong. At the same time, the harmful waste products will be removed efficiently.

Each model of laser hair comb has different intensity of the light used. Therefore, each model comes with different using intructions. Generally, you need to use the laser hair comb for about 10 to 15 minutes brushing, three times per week. The result vary among people and will take some time. Thus, you need to be patient.

Combining a laser hair comb therapy with topical treatment such as monoxidil and Procerin may speed up the result and the result is noticeable in around three months.

Wondering about the cost of a laser hair comb? It may at first seem high, but if you compare between the ongoing cost that you have to pay for the hair supplement or treatments and the unlimited use of a laser hair comb, you will realize that a laser hair comb is a worth buying products.

Womens Facial Hair- the Laser Hair Removal Solution

Women’s Excessive Facial Hair Growth – there’s no need to suffer!

Excessive facial or body hair in women is a condition called hirsutism. Hirsutism either runs in the family, usually presenting at menopause and puberty, or it can be an indicator of a larger underlying problem. Research indicates that up to 10-12% of the Australian female population is affected by Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which can be linked to excessive hair growth and hirsutism.

Hereditary hirsutism is largely an aesthetic rather than a health concern. When not hereditary it is most likely the result of excessive male hormone production (adrenal virilism), or an increased sensitivity of the hair follicle to normal male hormone levels. It is important to both a woman’s health and her self-con dence to have this condition diagnosed by a doctor. Hirsutism and any hormone imbalance that may underlie this condition can be treated. Excessive facial and/or body hair can be managed. Electrolysis is one means of managing excess hair but this can be painful, slow and very costly requiring many visits as only one follicle at a time is usually treated by sending an electrical pulse down the hair shaft.

Laser hair removal (as distinct from the much less effective IPL) is a much more manageable maintenance procedure as it treats a larger number of follicles at a time, is more comfortable than electrolysis and provides fast effective treatments. Hormonal hair growth via Laser Hair Removal therapy is efficient and manageable but not always a permanent solution as it is likely that hormonal hair regrowth may occur although usually at a much slower rate and usually much thinner than before, so hirsutism sufferers should be wary of claims by any service provider that they will achieve a permanent solution.

A woman might consider bleaching her facial hair, which makes it less visible alternatively regularly waxing can also assist. All of these methods should be used as means to treating the symptom, but any woman with progressing hirsutism should consult a doctor for a diagnosis in order not to compromise her health, or her self-confidence.

Nad’s Laser Hair Removal Clinic treats a number of hirsutism sufferer’s however warns that when it comes to facial hair, clients need to carefully select their treatment provider as Nad’s Clinics see a large number of clients that have been treated by inexperienced IPL and Laser Clinics. Inappropriate treatment can result in additional hair growth to facial or hormonal areas. Nad’s Laser Hair Removal Clinic warns that ONLY the affected areas should be treated by highly skilled therapists that have a sound understanding and many years experience in dealing with skin as inappropriate treatments may result in adverse side effects.. Additionally, certain medications are photosensitive and can result in an adverse affect if a pre treatment Consultation is not accurately conducted by skilled Therapists. Laser Hair Removal May Increase Hair Density for Some Men

About 55 million American men have some degree of hair loss, thus creating a potentially big market for an effective at-home treatment.

The HairMax LaserComb may be an option for men who don’t want to pay for hair restoration surgery but who also don’t have high expectations. It delivers a specific wavelength of light that stimulates the hair follicle, says its manufacturer, Lexington International.

In studies by the manufacturer, the device increased the number of thick hairs in 93 percent of 120 users. The average increase in hair density was 19 hairs per square centimeter — roughly a 20 percent improvement in someone with thinning hair.

The device costs $545 and must be used 10 to 15 minutes a day, three times a week to maintain the effect.

In contrast, laser hood treatments, which are available in clinics and cover the entire scalp, can cost hundreds of dollars per treatment and need to be repeated at least twice a week.

Hair transplants provide a more permanent solution but typically cost thousands of dollars.

Topical medications, such as Rogaine, run about $10 per bottle for the generic but produce only modest results for some users.

The laser hair comb is not backed by randomized, controlled studies done by independent researchers, says Dr. Paul Cotterill, president of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.

The device may be best suited for men who are serious about hair regrowth, such as those who undergo hair transplantation and want to augment the result at home, he says.

“This new laser comb won’t hurt, and it may help at maintaining hair,” Cotterill says. “But I want to see third-party studies — studies that have not been done by the people who produced it.”

Other laser hair regrowth devices are on the market but haven’t received FDA clearance to make claims of effectiveness. Sunetics, which sells the Laser Hair Brush, is applying for FDA clearance, says John Carullo, the company’s marketing director.

Steve Buchanan writes article on many topics including Laser hair removal surgery, Laser hair removal side effects, and Sona laser hair removal.
